What is ODAF2026?

ODAF2026 is the first open forum in which MUDS and MIDS share the results of their research and educational activities with a broad audience. The program features “Mirai-Sozo (Future Creation) Talk” sessions on the present and future of data science, together with research showcases from every laboratory — open throughout the event on floors 5F and 6F.

At the heart of the forum is the required course “Mirai-Sozo (Future Creation) Project.” From the second semester of the first year through to graduation, students take on joint research with companies and commissioned research from government and public bodies, tackling real-world challenges through hands-on learning. Since the faculty opened in 2019, a year-end showcase for first-year students has been held annually; this year, for the first time, the results are opened to the public — centered on second- and third-year students and extending to faculty members and graduate students. Visitors can explore a wide range of themes, from knowledge bases to virtual reality (VR) and deep learning.

It may be the height of summer, but we warmly invite you to join us, see the work up close, and connect with our students and faculty.
